Arkansas River Valley Amateur Radio Club Monthly Meeting

ARVARF Meetins on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Western Sizzlin in Russellville, Arkansas.  For Directions and a Map to the Western Sizzlin, Please Click HERE.  Before each meeting starting at 4PM Local Time, all classes of Amateur Radio Exams are provided.   You can either upgrade or take your initial Amateur Radio Exam.   Folks usually start gathering around 5PM to eat, and the ARVARF Business Session starts promptly at 6PM Local Time.  The meeting format is simple, the minutes from the previous meeting are read and approved.  Next is the Treasurers Report.  Then individual reports from the standing committies, events and projects are given.  After the Old Business and New Business the meeting is usally adjourned and program or presentation is given.   The programs and presentations are usually directly related to current ARVARF Events, Amateur Radio or Technology.

You are not required to purchase anything if you just wish to take your Amateur Radio Exam and/or attend the Business Session and the program.

Arkansas River Valley Hamfest

The Arkansas River Valley Hamfest this year is on March  2nd, 2024.  The Arkansas River Valley Hamfest is always held on t he 1st Saturday in March.   The doors open at 8:00AM Saturday Morning.   For Driving Directions to the Hamfest Please Click HERE.  This year the Hamfest will be held at the Dardanelle Community Center on 2059 State Highway 22,  2059-2099  State  Highway  22, Dardanelle, Arkansas.    For Google Maps of the Location, Please Click HERE.

STARS Amateur Radio Club

The STARS Club stands for Small Town Amateur Radio Service.  Their club call sign is W5STR. And they are from all walks of life, age groups, and experiences that come together to participate in a hobby we love - Amateur Radio!

The STARS Club is an active club that participate with clubs in the surrounding areas and hold events of our own. We provide public service to the Sylamore Trail 50k and several other events providing runner accountability, coordinating resources and providing communications for emergency services.

In times of emergency we stand ready to serve as the "last line of defense" to communicate emergency messages when other means of communication fail.  The STARS Club meets at the Criswell-Robinson American Legion Post 71 600 North Grant St, Cabot, AR 72023  on the second Sunday of every month (except May) at 1:30 pm

CAREN - Central Arkansas Radio Emergency Net

The C.A.R.E.N. Club is one of the oldest amateur radio clubs in Arkansas, dating back to the late 1950s. Just as the name implies, the C.A.R.E.N. Club is the state leader in emergency communications, SKYWARN, Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES), Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES), public service event support, and training for emergency communications response. The C.A.R.E.N. Club has a long proud history of providing emergency communications, when everything else fails. C.A.R.E.N. sponsors the ARKANSAS SKYWARN Net with seven voice repeaters and two digital repeaters. C.A.R.E.N. sponsors, on average, 20 public service events annually for charitable and non-profit organizations. Other C.A.R.E.N. accomplishments include thirty years affiliation with the American Radio Relay League, the one and only National Amateur Radio Organization. C.A.R.E.N. has sponsored the ALL ARKANSAS HAMFEST in the Little Rock area for over 20 years; and sponsors amateur radio classes to learn to become an amateur radio operator. Several C.A.R.E.N. repeaters can be linked together, providing communications over 90% of the county warning area of the National Weather Service in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

FCARC - Faulkner County Amateur Radio Club
